ProMineralizer
A clinical primer on our hydroxyapatite toothpaste — what it's made of, how it strengthens enamel, the lab results behind it, and how to recommend it.

A fluoride-free, hydroxyapatite toothpaste
ProMineralizer rebuilds enamel with the same mineral that enamel is made of — hydroxyapatite — instead of relying on fluoride. Formulated by Dr. Paul O'Malley and available in Wintermint, Citrus Blast and Peppermint Wow.
11% hydroxyapatite
Rod-shaped nano + micro blend — the mineral enamel is made of
Fluoride-free
No fluoride, SLS or glycerin
RDA 87.3
Confirmed-safe abrasivity (ISO 11609)
Multiple flavors
Wintermint, Citrus Blast & more
How it works on enamel
An 11% dual nano + micro hydroxyapatite mechanism — each particle size does a different job
-
Deposit
Brushing delivers an 11% blend of rod-shaped nano and micro hydroxyapatite — the same crystal shape as enamel's own — across the surface.
-
Fill (nano)
The smaller nano particles penetrate microscopic weak spots and tubules the micro particles can't reach, restoring smoothness.
-
Protect (micro)
The larger micro particles form an outer layer that mixes with saliva to create an added protective coating over the enamel.
-
Remineralize
Working at both scales, the 11% blend supports enamel remineralization and relieves sensitivity — without fluoride.
What the lab testing shows
Independently evaluated by Intertek CRS
-
-
48.6%
Less dentine permeability
Mean flow-rate reduction after two brushings vs 18.7% for water — supports sensitivity relief. Study 119-LAB-DDO-22-001.
-
Significant
Enamel remineralization
Statistically significant surface-microhardness recovery on demineralised human enamel vs control. Study 119-LAB-SMH-22-001.
-
Lower
Plaque biofilm growth
Statistically significantly lower biofilm dry weight, bacterial count and streptococci vs control. Study 119-LAB-PLQ-22-001.
-
1–2 shades
Whiter enamel
Average 1 (up to 2) VITA Bleachedguide shades whiter after ~1 week's brushing vs water. X-Shades study.
-
PCR 73
Effective, gentle stain removal
Pellicle Cleaning Ratio of 73 — effective yet gentler than the reference abrasive. Study 119-LAB-22-001.
-
RDA 87.3
Confirmed-safe abrasivity
Well below the ISO 11609 upper safety limit; passes ISO 11609 ('medium' abrasivity). Study 119-LAB-RDA-22-002.

In-vitro / laboratory results under controlled conditions; individual results vary. Full Intertek CRS reports available on request.
Which patients it's for
Consider recommending to patients presenting with:
- Dentin hypersensitivity
- Early / white-spot enamel lesions
- Fluoride-averse patients
- Erosion & remineralization needs
- Extrinsic staining
- Dry mouth
- Holistic / clean-label preferences
How to recommend it
A simple protocol your team can share with patients
-
Usage
Brush twice daily
Use a pea-sized amount morning and night, as with any toothpaste.
Spit, don't rinse
Encourage patients to spit and avoid rinsing so hydroxyapatite stays on the enamel.
Prioritize nighttime
The bedtime brushing leaves the mineral working overnight, when saliva flow is lowest.
-
What patients can expect
- 1–2 weeks
Many patients report reduced sensitivity and a smoother, cleaner feel.
- Ongoing
Continued use supports enamel strength, gentle whitening and stain control.
Remineralization is gradual — twice-daily, consistent use gives the best results.
- 1–2 weeks
Patient talking points
Quick answers for the questions patients ask most
How does it work without fluoride?
It uses hydroxyapatite — the same mineral that makes up ~97% of enamel — to fill and reinforce the surface, so it remineralizes without relying on fluoride.
Will it whiten teeth?
Gently — lab testing showed an average of 1 (up to 2) VITA shades whiter after about a week's brushing, by removing surface stain rather than bleaching.
Is it safe for daily use / is it abrasive?
Yes. Its RDA of 87.3 is 'medium' and well within the ISO 11609 safety limit, so it's suitable for twice-daily use.
Why spit but not rinse?
Rinsing washes away the hydroxyapatite before it can settle on the enamel. Spitting leaves more mineral in contact with the tooth surface.
